Directions to The Hermitage

Saint Mary’s Place of Solitude and Prayer is located on the south west coast portion of the island of Newfoundland, Canada,  in the Codroy Valley, 35 kilometers north of Port aux Basques,  and 120 kilometers south of Stephenville, 180 km south of Corner Brook, and 900 km west of St. John’s.

Traveling by:

Bus:
The DLR bus from St. John’s, Stephenville, and Deer Lake airports, and the ferry terminal in Port aux Basques stops at Mountainside General Store in Doyles on the Trans Canada Highway and guests will be met if given adequate notice.

Air:
Fly into Deer Lake, Newfoundland, and guests will be met at the airport if given adequate notice.

Driving:
For those driving, it is best to drive to Doyles in the Codroy Valley on the Trans Canada Highway, and turn off at The Mountainside General Store and follow the finger sign directions to The Hermitage.
